Grading Policies

Grading Regulations: Your final average will determine whether you pass or fail a course. No longer is passing the exam sufficient. The average will be calculated by 80% class average and 20% final examination. Passing will be 65%. It pays to attend the class and do well.

Report Card Grading: Grade Reports are issued to students 4 times a year at 10-week intervals. Grade reports are mailed home to their parents or guardian. Interim Progress Reports will be mailed home. The grade reports will carry number grades with an explanation of codes used appearing on the reverse side of the grade report. The grade report will also indicate absences in all classes. Passing will be determined by attaining a school mark of 65. Interim Progress Reports will also carry number grades. Failure letters will be generated every marking period to inform parents of students progress.

The final school mark is calculated in the following manner:
80%
- year average, i.e. the average of the four (4) numeric grade report marks 

20%- exam grade

Academic Honors: There are three levels of academic honors that can be achieved each marking period.

*Merit Roll status achieved with an average of 84.95% to 89.94%.
*Honor Roll status achieved with an average of 89.95% to 94.94%
*High Honors status achieved with an average of 94.95% to 100%.
